Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a verification system, which is used to prevent the so-called email spoofing where an email message can be sent from one email address, but to look as being sent from another one, often with the idea to scam the recipient in some way. When SPF protection is activated for a domain name, an exclusive record is created for it in the Domain Name System and all DNS servers worldwide receive it. The record contains all of the e-mail servers that are permitted to send authentic messages from an email address part of the domain. When an e-mail is sent, the first DNS server it goes to verifies the SPF record and if the sending server is authorized, the message is forwarded to the targeted receiver. If, however, the sending server doesn't exist in the SPF record for the given domain, the email message won't be sent and it will be discarded. Whenever you employ this solution, it will prevent third parties from sending spam e-mails which seem to have been sent by you.
SPF Protection in Cloud Web Hosting
SPF protection can be activated for any domain hosted in a cloud web hosting account on our cloud platform with only a few clicks. The option can be found in the Emails section of our innovative Hepsia Control Panel and all it takes to use it is to choose one of your domains from a drop-down list and enter the hostnames and the IPv4 or IPv6 addresses of the mail servers which will be authorized to send email messages from your email addresses. As an additional option you can also restrict the e-mails to be sent from your domain only when it has our MX records, in other words when our servers manage the emails for it, not a third-party supplier. This solution will give you the best degree of safety, but it's not applicable if only your web site is on our servers while your emails for the domain are managed elsewhere. Regardless, our SPF protection service will keep your emails secure from being used for spam or scam purposes.
SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Hosting
The SPF protection feature is available with all semi-dedicated hosting, so when you host your domains in an account on our cloud hosting platform, you will be able to activate the service without difficulty for all of your domain names. The Hepsia Control Panel, which comes with the semi-dedicated accounts, features a quite easy to use interface, so you don't have to be tech-savvy in order to protected your e-mails. You'll only need to type the hostname and the IP address of each mail server that you'd like to be certified to send emails from your addresses and immediately after that the updated record will be active for the domain that you have picked. As a further option, we also give you the ability to control your outgoing email messages and protect your mailboxes further by permitting emails to be sent only when the domain name involved includes our MX records i.e. the email messages for the domain have to be taken care of here and not by another company. By doing this you'll enjoy even superior control and there won't be any chances for somebody to counterfeit your e-mails for malicious purposes.
