Whenever a page on your site doesn't load, an error message will be displayed to the website visitor. Because there are different errors, there are different pages that will display, but what's common for all of them is that they are generic and most likely will have absolutely nothing in common with the design of your site, which can be frustrating for any website visitor. That is the primary reason why web hosting providers have introduced a feature named Custom Error Pages. For a range of different errors, visitors will see your unique content, which could be informative or amusing, based on your preference, and that will match the overall style and design of your site, so the pages will not seem like they are not part of your Internet site at all. You may use this option for a number of errors - 400 (Bad request), 401 (Unauthorized), 403 (Forbidden) and 404 (File not Found).
Custom Error Pages in Cloud Web Hosting
If you obtain a cloud web hosting package
from our company, you will be able to set customized error pages for your sites easily, as this function is a part of all our packages. The moment you've created the files and uploaded them to your hosting account, you should check out the Hosted Domains section of your Hepsia Control Panel and click on the Edit button for the selected domain or subdomain. In the pop-up which will appear, you'll see drop-down menus for all 4 sorts of errors and for each one of them you could select an Apache default page, a generic page from our system or a personalized page. Should you select the 3rd option, you should just type the URL to the file that you've uploaded then save the change. Another way to set custom made error pages is to set up an .htaccess file inside the domain or subdomain folder and to include a couple of lines of program code in it. If you do not have preceding experience or if you are simply uncertain how to do that, you could just copy/paste the code from our Knowledge Base article on that matter.
